    The New Mexico Chiles have a rich history in semi-professional soccer, becoming Albuqerque's first professional soccer team. Starting as one of the original SISL clubs in 1986 under names: Albuquerque Outlaws, Albuquerque Gunners, and New Mexico Roadrunners. In 1991, the Roadrunners merged with the Players of the APSL's New Mexico Chiles to form the current identity. The team was known for strong attendance, veteran players, and competitive play in the USISL.
